Haruki Murakami Career

He started in a record shop his profession. In Tokyo, in 1974 he and his wife started a coffee and jazz café. He was suddenly inspired to write a novel during the 1978 season of a baseball match at Jingu stadium. He started writing and by the fall of the year he completed a 200-page novel and sent a newly won writer’s contest titled ‘Hear the Wind Sing.’ Next year the novel was issued.

In 1980 he published his second novel, “Pinball, 1973.” The work examined the subjects of solitude, fellowship, and fate. The Akutagawa Prize was given to the author for this work. He opted to continue writing as a full-time job and sold his jazz club with the success of his novels.

The novel “A Wild Sheep Chase” was released in 1982. In the ‘Trilogy of the Rat’ series, this and his previous two works were included.

He visited Fujisawa and subsequently Sendagaya in the next couple of years. In 1985, he released “Wonderland and the End to the World” in hard-boiled form. It was an odd and bizarre novel divided among parallel storylines. He brought out “Norwegian Wood” within a span of two years (1987).

The novel was written in Tokyo during the end of the 1960s when students in Japan protested. In the young people, the novel became quite popular.




In January 1991, he went to New Jersey and became a Princeton University Associate Researcher. In 1992 he was appointed Associate Professor at the institution. In 1993 he began to study at the University of William Howard Taft. During the nineties, he released books like ‘The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle’ (1995) and ‘Sputnik Sweetheart’ In the 1990s he was the publisher of news (1999).

His novel “Kafka on the Shore” was finished in 2002. The work’s English translation was published in 2005 and was immediately welcomed and welcomed with excellent reviews. In the 2009-2010 edition in three volumes, his novel ‘1Q84’ was released in Japan and made him feel at the moment. The English version was finished in 2011.

Several of his writings were adapted for theatres and movies. He wrote several short histories, which were also published in other journals, in addition to novels.
