From 1951 to 1954, he worked as an investment salesperson for his father’s firm, Buffett-Falk & Co. He had collected over $10,000 in savings by the age of 20 in 1950, demonstrating his skill as an investor.
In 1954, he was hired at Benjamin Graham’s firm with a beginning salary of $12,000 per year. Buffett’s employer was a tough guy to deal with, expecting strict adherence to traditional investment standards that Buffett’s youthful mind questioned.
In 1956, Benjamin Graham retired and terminated his partnership. By this time, Buffett had amassed a sizable personal savings account, with which he established Buffett Partnership Ltd., an Omaha-based investment firm.
He began operating numerous other partnerships, and by the end of the decade, he had seven. As a consequence of the revenues from all of his partnerships, he became a billionaire in 1962.

In 2002, he invested $11 billion in forward contracts to deliver U.S. dollars against other currencies. By April 2006, he had amassed a fortune of over $2 billion.
Buffett said in June 2006 that he would be gradually giving away 85 percent of his Berkshire assets to five organisations, with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation receiving the largest donation.
